David Cameron, the pro-EU and anti-UKIP Conservative leader, says if he becomes Prime Minister he will tighten border controls (according to the Telegraph today) - but there is nothing he can do, of course, about people from EU nations coming in:

More expense for zero benefit, because people from the EU just pile in without a problem.
People from outside the EU, just fake some documentation from any one of the EU states and bingo, they get free access too.

This is off BBC 1 Television Ceefax (analogue page 111), 26.2.2007 at 3.12 pm:
'Tories unveil border police plan' The Conservatives have appointed the former Metropolitan Police Commissioner Lord Stevens to lead a working group on creating a border police force. They would use money saved from scrapping planned identity cards, as well as savings in the Home Office budget, to fund the plans. Tory leader David Cameron will insist in a speech that "porous" borders have worsened the UK's social problems. However, Labour have attacked the policy plans as "posture politics". Britannist adds: Nothing mentioned about the EU them - and the fact that we can't stop 500 million people from 26 other countries in europe coming into the UK. And Labour and the daft Liberal Dims can't criticise the Conservatives over the EU aspect because, of course, they are pro-EU and support the EU so-called single market of goods, services and movement of people. |

Hi All.
I read this in one of the Sunday papers, well you can see what one by the link. Anyway if what is in that article is the truth, no matter what Mr Cameron says or try to do, it will not help. Coz he will not be able to do a thing. If anyone has not yet read this, I would suggest them doing so. It shows just how bad this has all got & just how fast it is all going to be signed sealed & delivered in party wrapping & a big pink bow!!!!!. Just check out this link : http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/stor...ws/news4.shtml . It is sick, why on earth when it is in the papers like this & is being done so openly, why is no one doing anything to try to stop it. That is what baffles me. Mind you UKIP are trying, but the powers that be are doing there best to destroy them with silly twisted laws. God help us all. t.seeker |

I once entered the UK by showing a joke Texas passport (cost $6 )complete with facetious writing inside it.
The girl in Dunkirk had looked at her list and saw there were no visa requirements for Texans, because it was not on the list. Texas is not a sovereign state recognised by the UN of course. Our border controls are entrusted to shipping line clerks who are not British ,and not trained as coastguards. What a mess. |
