ITV 1 Teletext said at 8.10 pm on 21.11.2006 (analogue page 335, London ‘region’ only) that there are now over 60, 000 eastern european immigrants in London who have signed up for the Workers’ Registration Scheme (WRS). The actual number is 63, 795 in the capital from places like Poland, Latvia, Hungary and Slovakia. It is the second highest number for any ‘region’ of the UK. The number of eastern europeans in the whole of the UK signed up for the WRS is 510, 000. The figure does include eastern europeans who have entered the UK as self-employed workers and those who have not signed the WRS.
* ITV 1 Teletext reported at 8.34 pm on 21.11.2006 (analogue page 307) that “the Government’s claims on immigration suffered a major blow” after it emerged ministers are missing their target on deporting failed asylum seekers. It said that the number removed from the UK fell by 28% in the third quarter of 2006 to 3635 (compared with 5070 in the quarter before that). |

Poles made up 63% (300, 000) of the 510, 000 east europeans now signed up to the Workers Registration Scheme – according to new statistics published on 21.11.2006. Lithuanians were in second place on 11% and the Slovaks were on a share of 10% (of the total number of east europeans in the UK in 2005).
In the period July to September 2006, 59, 365 people to the UK from eastern europe (not including self-employed workers – i.e. those who chose not to register on the Workers Registration Scheme). In East Anglia there are 73, 000 east europeans on the Workers Registration Scheme (WRS) – the largest of any ‘region’ in the UK (London is in second place on a 14% share of the UK total). East Anglia has 15% of all those on the WRS. In third place is the English Midlands on 12%. The WRS was set up in 2004 when the Labour Blair regime came under pressure after an uncontrolled massive influx of east europeans into the UK started after 8 nations in eastern europe joined the EU on 1.5.2004 (giving 70 million people in eastern europe the right to enter the UK). A total of 17, 500 east europeans were given tax credits in 2005 and 35, 448 received child benefit. There were 2, 328 applications from east europeans for tax credits in 2005 (of which 353 were approved) and 5, 154 east europeans applied for jobseeker’s allowance (of which 859 applications were taken further). Homelessness assistance was paid to 524 east europeans in 2005 and 125 asked for a state pension. Low skilled workers from Romania and Bulgaria will be allowed in from 1.12.007 – but any caught working illegally face an on-the-spot fine of £1000. The europhile Blair Labour regime claims that only 20, 000 a year will be allowed in – but many more are expected to arrive claiming to be self-employed workers (and, therefore, not signing up to the Workers Registration Scheme). The Office for National Statistics said in early November 2006 that 1500 people were arriving in the UK every day, with 1000 leaving. This meant that the population of the UK is rising by 500 a day. Over 565, 000 people came to live in the UK for at least a year during 2005. The number of deportations of failed asylum seekers was down by 28% to 3, 635 in the quarter July – September 2006 (from 5, 070 in the period April – June 2006). The Labour regime now claims that the number of asylum applications in the year to date were the lowest since 1993 (at 17, 800) – and the lowest quarterly figures since 2004. The figure of 3635 deportations is 19% below its target – because they had expected 4500 unfounded applications to be made (and not the actual number of 3635). Hehe, another racist complaining about immigration from EE countries...
Indeed, UKIP is telling people the myth that "immigration from EE countries is not beneficial". Anti-immigration politicians generally use the following arguments: 1) Those immigrants aren't able to find a job and will abuse welfare. If those politicians were right, then the British public debt would be equal to GB's GDP. Yet it isn't, and according to the Department of Work, 90% of those immigrants have found jobs. 2) Unemployment will rise to the German level. Again, check the statistics, unemployment in GB is 1/2 of unemployment in Germany (which is higher than during the Weimar Republic era). It's true that unemployment has recently risen slightly, to 5.6%, but only slightly, therefore UKIP was wrong. And that rise of unemployment is not connected to immigration, but rather to British environmental regulations that do not protect the environment but do discourage businesses from remaining here. Should further bills be approved by Westminster, such as the Climate Change Bill, more businesses will move to the US, and therefore unemployment will rise. 3) Businessmen don't want to employ Poles and would like Blair to shut the borders. It's interesting that businessmen (such as members of CBI) are saying exactly the opposite, as are analyst groups. Link: http://news.scotsman.com/uk.cfm?id=1468092006 4) Crime has risen because of those immigrants. Actually, according to the Home Office, crime hasn't risen since 2003. It was high by 2003 and it's high now, but it hasn't risen. 5) Those immigrants are dangerous, and pose a threat to the British nation, and aren't going to be loyal to GB. When was the last time Polish immigrants blew up a Tube train? |

'Racist' is a term used for those who either:-
believe that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others. OR Discriminate or prejudice against others based on their race. In an otherwise sensible post, you try to continue the myth that those who are against immigration are 'racist'. This is not the case - our logic for a great reduction in immigration is based on the simple fact that the UK is full. We have finite resources and finite area. We do not want more housebuilding, more cars and so on. We do not see the 'benefits' of multiculturalism. Selfish yes, racist, no. |

And yes, you people ARE racist, because you oppose immigration from EU yet don't oppose immigration from non-European countries. |

Sadly you couldn't stop yourself sinking to abuse in every post, because you were losing the argument so badly, but once again you are 100% wrong on so many fronts.

Polish people are good people in the main. I would let in as many as possible if I had my way, but at the end of the day, the British people come first in my priority list. I would much rather Britain have total free trade with Poland and helped it become a country where it's people wanted to stay, rather than flee to an overcrowded country full of slave jobs and make jobs.

Truthteller-should have a more honest moniker.
What he said are the myths that can be tedious to refute but lets go; 1; 90 % have found jobs? thats 10 % who have`nt then.So they cant pay their way overall. Still thats not the point. We dont need migrant workers. 2; Unempolyed and employed levels have gone up. Again showing we dont need migrant workers , and if businesses are going to leave our country we need them even less. 3; The CBI and its predecessor that it formed out of, The Federation of British Industry has an ignoble part in history- and always tell the government to do the wrong thing, like join ERM and the EUro. It would better if this organisation, whose admin side is so out of touch, was wound up. After all, it cant be said that its been a great sucess in looking after British industry-we hardly have any now. 4; We dont believe Home Office statistics but see and read daily about some immigrants who abuse our hospitality.+What about those who entered the country illegally before their own jioned the EU. Why has there been an unofficial amnesty ? 5; We cannot just go to some other countries (like the USA) and say we will be good loyal citizens and are going to settle there.A country should hve the right to decide who comes in and for how long. I dont resent Dubai or New Zealands immigration systems and policies . Even if the figure of Great Britian being the 33 most densely populated were true (?) that just means there are 32 other areas of the world with an even worse problem.Look at the potential conflicts aring out of the place and distribution of water--overpopulation in action. This fellow does`nt seem loyal to Great Britain, he seems arrogant and says his piece in anger than sorrow. He is also a racist and too ignorant to know what a real one is. I dont want him in our country. |
