Default Trades Unions in UK begging Polish to come and take our jobs

Trades Unions in UK are begging the Polish to come and take our jobs:

The website of the europhile UK Trades Union Congress (TUC) said on 17.10.2006 that TUC officials were to travel to Poland to a jobs fair in Warsaw. They would aims to encourage Polish people to come and work in the UK. The TUC said it wanted to make Poles aware of employment laws in the UK and of their right to union membership. It was reported that Tesco, Jurys Doyle, MacDonald Hotel Group and First Group were at the trade fair.

There are 1.7 million unemployed people in the UK on official figures. The TUC appears to regard the task of bringing in foreign workers to compete wit the British jobless for vacant posts as a more important priority than helping re-train many of those without work in the UK.

The circle squared at last.

TUC leaders arguing for lower wages for their members.

Are the unions now so dominated by white collar paper shufflers committed to world peace, the end of hunger and intolerance, delivered of course by their benign hands than to actually care about their members? Actually don't answer that.

Clearly their current membership and workforce is not up to scratch in terms of their own 'liberal' world view. I know what let's replace them with another one!

Of course the Unions were always going to get infiltrated when they had enough power.

Do members of unions really think that the people in power, would ever let them have such sway with them for any amount of time?

If I was in a union I would look very carefully at the objectives and actions of my organisation and ask do they really represent me?

It'll be tough, as the sheeple mentality will kick in, not to go against the herd.

If the union doesn't do what it says on the tin, then why pay into it!

Ha! Claiming the 'white collar workers' have infiltrated the unions? Pull the other one!

Maybe you should read Animal Farm. There's no more effective oppressor of the common man than another common man.

Now if I were a potential Polish worker coming to Britain I would ask the TUC leaders if they were good value for my prospective money ,if I join a union.
Lets look at my own trade-haulage.
Have they managed to protect the international section ? No. Its not there anymore.
Have they made sure their members can park uo safely every night ?
Only if their loads are not high value and they park with the back doors open to inform the theives roaming the highways at night that they should pick on someone else.
Have they fought the government on the iniquitoius situation where hauliers and drivers are fined if clandenstines break into their trailers to gain entry to the UK ? No, their sympathy is more with the criminal element.
Havr they made HGV driving a trade that people want to come in to ? No,even families that have had drivers in the trade for generations have discouraged their younger members from taking the HGV test.

In short, the union are a waste of money.

That's why union membership is at its lowest ever level.

Yeah you're right what was I thinking of.

That other bastion of the labour movement, the Labour Party isn't stuffed full of Champagne Socialists either is it. Only barristers and career politicians, bravely fighting their way through public school and university.

Animal Farm? Surely a savage satire of Stalinist Russia and how power currupts, and of course "All animals are born equal, except some are more equal than others."

I think George Orwell, the democratic socialist that he was (planned economies and all that), is with me on this one comrade.

So if 'power corrupts' - as you put it - and the working classes run the unions - that is they have the power - then how, exactly, is it the fault of the 'white collar workers'?

You sound like Mugabe.

Power corrupted him!

It doesn't ALWAYS corrupt of course, but it has the power too.

I don't know who it is, could be a mixture of both! All I do know is Unions no longer do what they say on the tin. I wouldn't join any of them as they stand.
