Default They're doing jobs the British wont do

I have worked all my life, since I was 15. I have always been a self-employed builder either working on my own - mainly building small extensions, or employing sub-contractors.
It has not always been easy but I have managed to survive for 38 years.

Now though, with the arrival of a large number of cheap workers from Poland, the situation is very difficult. I haven't been able to find work since July. I don't know what to do.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/talking_point/5381458.stm

This type of thing makes my blood boil decent hard working British people throw on the scrap heap so some rich ******* can get even richer.
Then we get some condescending **** of an MP telling us they are doing the jobs British people will not do, if that was the case these businesses would have gone bust years ago.

Absolutely stinks and what is Ukip doing about "****** all" why don’t they set up a website for British workers that have suffered due to this influx of immigration then start shouting about the numbers of people it has affected.

Oh I forgot our ex-leader uses Polish labour and his son Imports them.

Animal farm ******* Animal farm

Has anyone noticed that you don't see many people over the age of 50 doing jobs anymore? I quite often used to see people suplementing their pensions or just keeping themselves busy and active, doing supermarket jobs or various other "jobs we won't do".

Now they seem to have disapeared? Where too?

The scrap heap I would imagine.

As long as we have 8 million (and rising) economically inactive people and a massive welfare cost for people out of work, or only on part time, then I just don't except the argument "jobs we won't do".

Ive looked at road chefs, bars and campsites for the last twenty years, used to be predominately staffed by OAPs and students now predominately staffed by Eastern Europeans.

Well as long as the rich are getting richer who cares.

The minimum wage is rapidly becoming the standard wage. It will be interesting to see if eastern europeans start doing the work of accountants, lawyers, journalists, broadcasters and managers.

As more homes get reposessed and sold because of mortgage arrears, it will be intersting to see what happens to house prices - the principal asset of the self-satisfied managerial class.

I would hardly call owning a house "The principal asset of the self-satisfied managerial class", unless of course your politics are way, way, left of mine and you hate all home owners?

Widespread home ownership is a very good thing. To base an economy on it is a recipe for disaster long term.

I wouldn't say that! For years the price of a family car equalled the average working mans annual wage and car prices were worked out on that basis!

I can speak fromm experience that my wage has dropped by nearly £2 an hour for doing a harder job due to the Eastern Europeans, and there are lots of them where I currently work!

to say I am struggling is true, I am on min wage because of them and have a Mortgage to boot

it seems I will have to look elsewhere for income support like crime?

and why not as it seems to pay nowadays?
