Default How should illegal immigration be monitored?

http://newsforums.bbc.co.uk/nol/thre...013&#paginator

Clearly UKIP's immigration policy is just about spot on, looking at the popular comments here.

Not a single mention of UKIP. Just many who want illegal immigrants sent back as soon as they get here, and a few contributions from the anti-borders human rights brigade.

Perhaps we should be spelling out our policy and how we are the only party that can stop immigration from the EU - by leaving.

You CANT monitor illegal imigration by definition, similar to trying to ascertain the number of unreported crimes, all you can do is estimate based on small samples or best guesses.

As this government has found out to its cost, once they are here you can't find them until they willingly or otherwise put their heads above the parapet.

In the meantime, since they are illegal, then doing illegal things makes a lot of sense - you can't hold a legal job, you can't legally drive a car, you can't legally rent a property, you can't have a bank account and so on.

Only three things, together, can possibly work - improving border security, unequivocal deportation in every case (if you'd wanted asylum, you should have asked for it) and massive prison sentances for those aiding and abetting, and for those illegals who commit ANY crime (before they are deported)

Make life for illegals so tough, they won't want to be here, in other words.

The whole point of illegal immigration is that it is illegal, we cant monitor it. Personally i think we need to stop all immigration for the next 15 years and have a closed borders policy whilst we sort out the situation at the moment, in this time period we need to

1. Deport all the illegal immigrants
2. Deport all foreign criminals
3. stop all immigrants familys coming here
4. stop all eu immigration

thern perhaps as

5. Deport all asylum seekers who claimed on economic grounds

this is the only way the government can get ontop of the current huge backlog, track all these people down (estimated at c. 500,000 +), deport them and then find out just who exactly is in our country, otherwise the system is just clogged up with new incomers who add to the current workload. In this time period we then need to try and sort out community relations between the people here now.

Default N.I. numbers

One point I'd make is that I once read that there are over one million national insurance numbers illegally in use in this country. Illegal immigrants (in the UK) are suspected of using a large number of these N.I. numbers.

I do not believe finding masses of the illegals is such a big problem - if significant resources are put into the operation. It seems what is lacking is government will.

This reinforces the belief that they are happy with the situation because the black economy helps the nations economy generally.
