London hospitals write off 'over 90%' owed by foreign patients
Some London hospitals have written off more than 90% of what they are owed by foreign patients not entitled to free NHS care, BBC London has learned.
Figures released under the Freedom of Information Act show Newham Hospital Trust wrote off 96% last year of what it had invoiced.
...............In total, £7.6m was written off by 33 NHS trusts in the region, since 2009.
Across the trusts, a total of £26m is owed by patients, of which £18.4m continues to be actively sought.
...............One senior doctor at a large London hospital, who did not want to be identified, said the problem of outstanding debt was much bigger than official figures show.
.............."It is probably about three or four times that figure," he said. ]]
BBC News - London hospitals write off 'over 90%' owed by foreign patients
So following on from the goverment's total failure to reduce immigration, foreigners who have paid not a penny into the system are allowed free treatment at our expense while the government cuts the NHS budget.
No wonder British taxpayers are living in pain for months and being denied treatment. Not only because Cameron has cut the funding for the NHS but millions of pounds of taxpayers money is being spent on treating foreigners and bogus asylum seekers who come here for free operations.
Before anyone, immigrant, foreign holiday maker or asylum seeker is allowed into this country the proven means to pay for health care, either by insurance or accessible assets, should be a necessary requirement.
This is England and .....
Hello Francis.
Did you notice something?? Of course you didn't...your an idiot.
So if they had a £1million debt, and recovered much of it (ie most of it), say they recovered 90% - £900,000. Or does 'much of it'have another meaning?Meanwhile, Basildon and Thurrock wrote off 97% of
what it was owed, having recovered much of its debt
Their debt now becomes £100,000,
If they continue to see seek £10,000, and write off £90,000 this becomes 90% written off,
But in reality they would have wrote off 90,000 out of £1million = 9%. Not out of 100,000, that's not how accounting works.
Classic propaganda, manipulation of numbers, and stupid idiot who can’t read and add numbers, doing cut n paste.
NHS is currently in over £1.2billion debt. £26 million is still owed from foreigners = 2%
Considering they make 7.5% of the population and only 2% of hospital debt is attributed to them. I think they’ve done pretty good.
How did they recover much of it, and still wrote off 97%.
You’re not ready for this game Francis. You see how they lie without lying?
What does this tell you about the BBC, what does it tell you about Jane Bradley, deliberately manipulating numbers to give bad impression of foreigners. She’s not stupid it was no accident on her half, you’re stupid for believing such nonsense and she’s cunning when idiots are reading her article.
Remember I told you the BBC is on your side, in a very cunning way.
As I proved in my previous post foreigners only claim on average 4% of their tax contributions, whilst british citizens claim back 28% - so who’s the benefit scroungers?
And as I also said, even though I proved to you the tax contribution/benefits relationships, you will be here tomorrow saying the same sh*t even though you’ve been proven wrong.
Does your idiocy know any bounds?
Even if you added that debt to their contributions in general, £2billion benefits +£26million debt / tax contribtuions = 4.5% (if you added NHS cost to welfare cost of britihs citizens / tax contributions this figure would be approaching 50%)
So they are still more cost effective even if that debt was multiplied by 100, alot more than british citizens, at a time of economic crisis, credit crunsh, i think the government could do with people who dont cost them money...dont you think?
PS Franis im an almost qualified ACCA Chartered Accountant. Only got my final year left.
Also note, a good journalist would quote and link where the data was from, Jane has not provided any links to the data, only how it was sourced, freedom of information act, to give the impression this data was hidden, all government accounts are public.
Again she's not lyeing, but manipulating thoughts.
Simple reading francis, your own language.....you cant even do that.

Got some more information for you francis…
You can download Basildons Annual Report and Accounts from..
Basildon and Thurrock Hospitals | Annual Reports and Accounts
Don’t worry you won’t have to plead the freedom of information act before you can download it. This Jane chap is a bigger drama queen than you.
Who BTW states they wrote off £47,000 in debt atttributed to foreigners.
In case you don’t know the numbers in (xx) are negative (in the report).
The accounts start from P116. I am analyzing the 2010/11 figures.
A few interesting notes….
Baslidon took a loan of £12.8 million
They paid £791,000 in interest for these loans, why should a hospital have to pay interest rates of 6.1%. This figures is 16 times the debt written off from foreigners, and would take 16 years to pay back at the current rate, ASSUMING they wouldn’t need to borrow more money which is unlikely.
I would be more concerned with the £791k interest rates and the £12.8million loan than the £47k foreign debt - which your obviously so concerned about.
Do you want me to go through the other hospitals annual reports?
But your’re not worried about the hospitals financial problems in reality are you, your interest is painting blood on the hands of foreigners, cus you’re a pathetic racist. A stupid one at that.
Lying and painting false pictures to create hate towards a different ethnic group….inciting hatred?
Anyway, also note between 2009 and 2010 they needed 60% extra cash, £20million to £32 million (the loan), meanwhile their assets fell £24million.
Overall the hospital currently owes £20 million.
The taxpayers equity was overspent by £1.1million.
Find ‘BAD DEBT’ in the document…
The hospital had to write off £3.7million to bad debts for 2010 (P136 of annual report). They also lost £4million to clinical negligence? £10million lost to depreciation.
You can take the £47,000 out of there / £3.7 million bad debt.
= 1.2% of total debt written off is attributed to foreigners.
It’s funny how Jane conveniently forgot to mention this.
97% of debt had been written off to foreigners AFTER much of it had been recovered???? What a pathetic statement, from a pathetic journalist, believed by pathethic readers. I'd be interested to hear about the accounting credibility of Ms Jane. In fact i think this calls for a letter to the BBC.
….so this 1.2% of bad debt is a major problem, what about the 98.8% bad debt which is the responsibility of British Residents? Is that not a problem?
Isn’t the £3.65million bad debt a problem in your eyes? Or is the 47k a bigger problem?
For a hospital that had to write off 97% of its foriegn debt, which is £49,000, who spends £240,000,000 annually, their not exactly over burdoned by foriegners then are they? This amounts to 0.02% of their annual budget.

How thick you are, the 90% was an example of how the 97% was calculated AFTER 'much of it had been recovered'. And gave an example of how this manipulative calculation was made,
See the bad debt from the annual report of the hospital yourself.
£47,000 --------- Bad debt from foreigners
£3,700,000 ----- Total bad debt.
= 1.2% of total bad debt from foreigners (immigrant population = 7.5%)
its no wander the Dr who quoted these figures as alarming didnt want to be identified, because he was lying out of his butthole and he knew it, and didnt want to implicate his reputation in case someone with half a brain cell questioned him about the other bad debt.
As a DR i would be extremely concerned about £4million lost to clinical negligence, when did the BBC do an article about how much money is lost through clinical negligence? are all the staff high on drugs, £4million in damaged equipment every year from 1 hospital is a major problem if you ask me.

Well Alemcodon, a friend who has a sister living in S. Africa told me her sister said that S.Africans of ethnic minority British status come back to Britain to have their babies, fully expecting to have to pay , and willing to do so for what they believe to be better care, but they never get abill!
Do you really think Nigerians and Bangladeshi health toursits are chased up, and even if they do receive a bill do you imagine, when safely beyond the law, in their own countries, that they would respond?
"The whole point of the liberal revolution that gave rise to the 1960’s was to free us from somebody else’s dogma, but now the same people…are striving to impose on others a secularized religion…" Richard Bernstein

"Actively sought" means they haven't got it yet. Three times £26 million is £78 million. Stolen from us by you immigrants and foreigners. Simple innit?
This is England and .....
foreign spongers get lost.
For a simpleton, yes.
The £3.7million bad debt from that 1 hospital didnt include other debts which were sought after either, if your talking about debt which has been written off, thent alk about debt that has been written off, if your talking about debts overall, then the NHS has £1.2billion in debts overall, £70million/1.2billion = <7%, still less then the population proportionatly.
I also dispute that £70million figure because the NHS KNOWS how much money is owed and where from, so for the unnamed Dr to speculate its higher then £26million is stupid. Unnamed for a reason, because he's chattin sh*t. How can you quote an unnamed Dr, the journalist could have been talking to the toilet cleaner for all we know.
£26million officially owed from an official debt of £1.2billion = 2.1%
Considering immigrants claim only 1/6 of a proportion of their tax contribution compared to british residents, this £26million, or even £70million, is still a good deal for our economy and our government expenses.
Its impossible to attribute foreign debt as a significant issue regarding NHS or individual hospitals debt.
Unless your a simpleton of course.
Mr Green
I dont know about south africa, but there are policies about women giving birth in the UK from foreign countries.
VISA's would not be issued to expectant mothers, the only way they could get away with it was by giving bith 3-4 months premature, i dont think any mother would deliberately give birth that early so her child can be born in the UK.
If they are not billed, then this is failing in the admin of the hopsitals and not their fault.
If they had intentions to pay, and werent billed, who's at fault? Would we not welcome foreigner prepared to travel here and pay privately to our hospitals for treatment. This is effectively an export, that money is (or would be) contributing to the trade deficit, positively.
A hospital shouldnt be undergoing private work on credit anway. You cant walk out of ASDA and tell 'em ill pay you next year. If 'were giving away free health and being taken advantage of, we need to fix up.

FACT - £26million owed
OPINION - this figure could be 2 or 3 times higher.
FACTS and OPINIONS francis!!!
Simple analysis, simple reading, simple english, simple maths, none of which you could do, you're not even a simpleton, you're a sampleton of a simpleteon.
You cant form your own opinions, your opinions are dictated to you, as i've proved once again, how many more times before you admit you're a yes man.
