Thumbs down Surly 101 switch-board operator

I had to phone the Police because some Blacks boys were causing trouble in my block, I thought breaking into a flat and I phoned the non-emergency number when I mentioned that they were Black the operator became very surly and said how did I know they were Black I said in the same way that I know you are Black, at some point she went into a speech of being proud to be Black etc. it felt like I must be "Racist!!" for daring report Black boys doing a crime. I'm sure these calls are recorded should i report her?

Better check the power balance in Black White Complaints which may be in the gray area.

The invading Indonesian authorities thus the local native inhabitants get no justice, they are being replaced, genocided, a bit like here.

What you should have said was they were Afro Carribeans expressing their frustration at British society because their ancestors were enslaved and taken from their native lands 300 years ago and they have suffered racism and been denied opportunities ever since.

Or said it was a gang of IC3s which is the police description of apparent ethnicity of a black person. If she'd argued with that description you could have cause for complaint.

And you should have said one of them appears to have a knife or gun but you can't be sure. That should get some action.

But really if you thought it was a crime in progress you should have called 999.

A few years ago I called the police on the non emergency number. A car was parked outside my friends house when she was on holiday. Three people got out of the car, two (the passengers) who had been previously been convicted of drug offences. When I mentioned that the driver was black the response was 'what's that got to do with it'! Needless to say the police didn't come!

I have no faith in the police anyway as after a number of burglaries in my street I called 999 when we realised that somebody was in our next door neighbours house while they were away. 45 minutes later they arrived!

That feels incredibly familiar, makes me make more demands, not less like this complaint I made today.

~I would also question their tactics: we have a problem because the estate of 2,000 flats house etc only about 20 are still occupied lots of empty places for them to play in etc. every time we (me and neighbours) have phoned the police about some boys doing something, copper theft, vandalism etc. and today, setting fire to one of the flats on my block (I put it out) they have caught no one, the boys just run away or walk away I think they probably hear the sirens from a distance and leave casually, the police have caught no-one, absolutely no-one in the last year, useless tactics.
