Default not funny e che pecato

Deaths are not funny. The relatives are grieving.
    However...
The Coast of Concord is a tragic comedy. The captain with the odd name says he fell over into a lifeboat. He asked the Coast Guard how could he return because the night was dark. People were screaming non-stop and couldn't hear instructions and battled each other to escape. The ship was practically parked on the beach and most people could dog-paddle ashore.
    viva Italia.
    RIP.

I agree - if it were a Hollywood film plot and nobody died it would be funny. The captain is not really helping to get rid of the Italian stereotype. Hopefully more Italians behave like the coast guard.

I should imagine the Italian nation are totally ashamed of him. I would be if I were Italian.

Indeed. De Falco is my kind of man.

Schettino is now being exposed as an effete Italian Stallion .. not to be trusted with authority.

His female supporters talk with the same bravado he does, and with his shipwreck survival skills and experience in police matters, he could be on roller skates for a magnificent political life in the Republic of Italy.

Reminds me of allo allo, the Italian Capitan with the cokeral feathers in his cap, ran a mile at the first sign of 'dan ger', whilst the brave Germans stood their ground.

    CaptainBertorelli

A terrible tradgedy, though, not the first time mediterainian Captains have fled, did the same thing on a Greek ship if I remember.

There are T shirts out with "Get back on board!" in Italy. Later there will surely be a song "calzino bagnato mio" - my wet socks, in opera style.
