Ethnic British families are far too naive about the possibility of racial attacks. Black and asian families take the default position that its probably racist! On Saturday Det Ch Insp John MacDonald said Mr O'Shea had been chased by a group of black males.
Police said they had an open mind about the motive
On Sunday he said: "We are keeping an open mind regarding the motive for the attack, however, I wish to reinforce the family's position that there is nothing to suggest Danny's murder is racially motivated

Some good points made in the letters here
Also note no 'bigging up' of the boy by the media, talk of how loved he was, what his ambitions were, how decent his family is...

Yes, that is noticeable by its absence. Also note no 'bigging up' of the boy by the media, talk of how loved he was, what his ambitions were, how decent his family is...
Perhaps we can give the media a little help.
How about this for a multiculti-friendly obituary for this white person:
Nobody really loved him, he didn't have any ambitions, his family was only about as decent as any
other family.

The media do leave little clues about the suspect when they aren't white, I find that whenever the word "youths" is mentioned it tends to indicate south Asian as opposed to "young men" which tends to indicate white British. Also the word "gang" which indicates non British as opposed to "group." The criminals themselves do tend to make it easy to identify their ethnic origin also by the methods in which the crimes are committed, take the common reports of a man walking alone being set upon by a gang of 20 youths, clearly British born Pakistanis. When the perpetrator is non British the crimes are almost invariably typical of the religious/ethnic origin.
Interesting observation. I shall look out for that in future.find that whenever the word "youths" is mentioned it tends to indicate south Asian as opposed to "young men" which tends to indicate white British. Also the word "gang" which indicates non British as opposed to "group."
The use of the word 'youths' is clealyr to minimise the levels of responsibility of the ethnic minority criminals, but I am not clear why they would choose to use the word 'gang', which has negative connotations - perhaps to still minimise the level of responsibility of some of the younger participants?

Had it been the other way around then the SOS would have immediately described it as a racially motivated attack.
