A thoroughly disappointing result. I think Steve Allison needs to go back to the drawing board for campaigning techniques. None have worked of late.

Total humiliation for Labour and another very bad result for UKIP. At least they beat the Raving Loony party.
I have a nasty feeling that UKIP is in for more problems when the European elections come round. Well I have just renewed my UKIP membership and as I have no intention of joining the BNP or going back to the Cameron Treason Sewer I think my next move is out of politics altogether. Last month I carried our a reconnaissance on some properties in proudly monoracial, monocultural Guernsey and next month I will do likewise in the monoracial, monocultural Isle of Man. I long to turn my back on the crime, filth and treason of Scum Nation. |

I suppose he's talkimg about the national vote rather than tihis specific result. Anyway I wouldn't shout about it. According to you the BNP should not be getting any votes at all.
The remaining liberal-leftists like you are one of the things that is wrong with UKIP, However if you take a look at the posts of your fellow-travellers on this forum you will find that most are now ex-members. I wonder why? |

A good result for us, simply because we didn't get squeezed by the Lib Dems, which is what generally happens at byelections. We should now go on to get second in H+H, and that might make a narrative for the media.
Something that is being missed by everyone is the relative softness of the Labour vote. In Crewe it didn't collapse but a lot of former Labour voters didn't turn out, rather than voting against the government. In Henley, where Labour didn't stand a chance, voters deserted the government. Some went to the Lib Dems, some to us and some to the BNP. But the Lib Dems are also losing votes to the Tories. |

Looks like Gordon Brown and NIgel Farage are two peas from the same pod. They work away for years at getting leadership of a party, then prove to be totally inadequate but surround themselves with incapable yes men to secure their own positions.

Every DC member is scratching their head over who really votes for the Greens. This English hating pro-immigration party obsessed with multiculturalism and gay rights managed to come top of the small parties / independents but nobody can explain why. Henley must be a constituency where having a car engine less than 2 litres is the exception rather than the rule, so a vote for the Greens is a vote for having to exchange my Jag and Merc for a Sinclair C5.
UKIP aren't dead yet and should use this election result to their advantage. Here's a helpful hint to set the ball rolling again.
