If UKIP is to be rescued it needs to become the hardline rightwing party that is not the BNP and has no Nazi connections.
UKIP needs to say no to immigration, no to moral degeneracy, no to destruction of the Green Belt etc etc. UKIP needs to show that it is the natural successor to the Thatcherite Tory Party. There is a wave of indignation against the PC society which is waiting to be harnessed. Most people hate the sewer-like deracinated society in which they live. Shout louder and the fainthearts will decide that the safest thing is to come on board. It works in Italy. It will work here too. |

Tory resurgence is the result of Tony Blair vanishing from our television screens. Middle England liked him because he was entertaining with a big grin and a charming personality. Gordon Brown is as entertaining as a mouldy apple. Therefore, there is no reason for Middle England to continue supporting Labour so it's time for them to return to the party they originally supported - regardless of its leader or its policies.
Blair might not have prevented a Labour meltdown in Henley, but he could have kept Labour a few percent higher than the Tories in opinion polls.

Mikeuk , what you say is spot on , ukip does need to shot louder, and get off the fence. Until then there is only the bnp , unpalatable though they may be to some. Anyone thinking camerons pinko torys are going to do anything about europe is living in a fools world. After all they took us in , in the first place , and they signed the maastricht treaty. If ukip takes a trouncing next year , i am sorry they are finished , for our main elections.

>> If UKIP do very badly in Henley? <<
Reading a lot of posts from UKIPers over the past two days suggests the first effect on UKIP people is they've succumbed to the *de-hydrated wasp syndrome*
