Default Conservatives delaying the Henley by-election?

Henley doesn't seem to be getting much of a mention at the moment. Is there any particular reason why Boris hasn't yet resigned his seat?

From a political perspective, it looks like the Tories are deliberately waiting. If they can win in Crewe, then they may want to wait a while and use Henley as another victory later to keep the momentum going, rather than merging it with the good news from Crewe by holding it too early.

Sort of flies in the face of wanting "good representation", doesn't it! Boris is in London and the good folk of Henley have to wait and see. Has he resigned yet? Or is he part-time like Brown?

No he is still the MP. Apparently he might even wait until the Autumn recess (according to the Times).

OK now Crewe is out of the way, the Tories will want to get Henley done fast as another victory. Look at the positive for UKIP, with collapse of both Labour & Lib Dems at Crewe, & other smaller parties coming nowhere, the numbers add up to make a possible UKIP coming THIRD in Henley by leaflet material targetting former Labour & Lib Dem voters ( not just Tories as before ) ending up with a massive Tory win, depleted Lib Dems coming 2nd and UKIP just beating Labour into 3rd place.

Now that would be result to make media waves and boost morale if handled well. At the top has UKIP the imagination , organisation and will to do it ?

That is all very well commenting on organisation and imagination, but where does the funding come to fight by-elections properly, as local branches aren't exactly brimming with dosh and donations although gratefully received don't really amount to much in the long run.
