Socialism is bad for us! Why can't Labour accept it.

“The trouble with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.” - Margaret Thatcher.

One might have supposed that, after ten years of being out-right defeated by Margaret Thatcher those ludicrous phenomenon's of stupidity that called themselves "socialists", would have simply disappeared into the abyss of time. Yet the Labour party still bases much of its' policies on this principle. Labour's approach to economics is still very much after a socialist fashion. Just today on the news, was a Labour politician admiring Michael Foot (a leader of the Labour party who fully intended to abolish elections if he became prime minister!).

Hello matey, You and Thatcher are right, and I believe that Labour is running a stealth class war not actually knowing or agreeing with eachother what direction they are going , however they do say they are for the working class but all I see when I look around is the working class and the UK being absorbed into the EU with not alot of hope. Socialism in moderation - not what is happening here.

The Iron Lady - Hard Core to the Core. Do you think her defence policies and forces strengths of her day should be matched now by the present or incoming government. I do.

"Socialism is bad for us! Why can't Labour accept it.?"

It's amazing isn't it.... I put it down to a total lack of any real understanding of what life is about. They seem to have this fear of everything, and the only way to survive is to control every facet of everybodies life.
.... and that is a restrained version of what I really think about this labour party that has already ruined our country

Hi everyone, sorry I've not been around for a few days now. I agree, of course, that Thatcher's defense policies were most definitely superior to any succeeding government. I have always felt that her ideas on individualism and the economic policies she pursued in order to give individuals who wanted it the opportunity to succeed were far better than Labour's idea of state control.

Wouldn't it be nice if the state HAD CONTROL except they give it all away to the EU Dictators. Maggie wouldn't put up with it !!!

She saw the whole thing coming 18 years ago, some of her speaches to the European Union wouldn't be out of place in UKIP at the moment!

Well hopefully UKIP can act much as Thatcher did all those years ago. Maybe we will look back 20 years from now and say UKIP saw it coming in terms of a Federal State and put a stop to it !
