Conservatives, Labour, Blackpool, inheritance tax, economic growth, treasury
Brief edited extract from the article on the link in the first posting to this thread:
"The Conservatives have clawed back ground from Labour since a successful conference in Blackpool this week. Labour officials put that revival down to Tory promises to take nine million households out of inheritance tax. The PBR will contain some glum economic news, with the Treasury almost certainly following independent economists by cutting its forecasts for UK economic growth next year."
The article also says that although Gordon Brown would like to make his own proposals on reforming inheritance tax, it is unlikely that he will do so next.
