A poll in tomorrow's Sun newspaper (conducted by Ipsos) will put Labour 8% ahead of the Cameron-Conservatives, an article for tomorrow's Telegraph claims (the last opinion poll - published in today's Sunday Mirror - puts Labour 6% ahead):

Brief extract from the article on the link in the first posting to this thread:
"An IPSOS Mori poll for today's Sun puts Labour on 42 points — eight ahead of the Conservatives on 34. The Liberal Democrats are on 14. Mr. Cameron has ordered Conservative Central Office to go on the offensive and a glossy new newspaper has been sent into the 70 most marginal seats pledging that they will make health and law and order their priorities. The move is designed to deter Mr. Brown from going early. One senior Tory conceded (Quote) What is our election strategy? It is to stop Brown going in October (End of quote)." A poll in the Telegraph (conducted by YouGov) last Saturday put Labour 6% ahead of the Cameron-Conservatives. A 6% lead would be enough for Labour to have a 100 majority in the Commons. |

Does that include health tourism and the huge increase in crime committed by immigrants? I read today that one in five crimes are committed by foreigners. The Conservatives need to tackle the immigration issue and get back on the right track otherwise they haven't a hope in hell of winning an election. More information on the poll in tomorrow's Sun (by IPSOS polling) - Labour up 1% on the last IPSOS/Mori poll and the Conservatives and Liberal Dims are down 1% each. The europhile Dim Libs would have hoped for an increase in their poll rating after the publicity they have gained from their party conference. The reverse has happened

You don't expect the Tories to seriously tackle the great unmentionable topic of British politics, do you? They do have utterly clueless PC Dave at the helm 'leading' them. |

The current Conservative opinion poll rating is 32% - which is about 2% less than their actual share of the national UK vote at the last General Election.
If they talked about immigration and promised to halt the huge influx engineered by Labour and their friends in the EU, the Conservative rating in the polls would now be higher and there would be no talk of Brown calling an early General Election. |
