A YouGov poll of 1341 voters for Channel Four Television News reveals that Labour have extended their lead to 11% - the largest Labour lead in an opinion poll on voting intentions for some years.
Details: Labour 44% + 5 Conservatives 33% no change Liberal Dims 13 - 3 The poll result will be a disappointment for both David Cameron, the pro-EU and anti-UKIP leader of the Conservative Party (the Conservative share in the poll is lower than the proportion of the national vote the Conservatives got at the last General Election) and for Sir Menzies Campbell, leader of the europhile Liberal Dims. The fanatically pro-EU and pro-immigration Liberal Dims had hoped for the traditional poll boost a party usually gets after its annual party conference - according to YouGov the exact reverse has happened .YouGov said that women accounted for a large part of the increase in Labour support. 58% of those questioned told YouGov that they did not want an Autumn General Election and 27% said that they were in favour of one.
