Free England Party to produce book on English Independence

At today's NEC meeting in London, it was decided to commission a book to be called '101 arguments for English Independence'. The idea was in part inspired by Alisdair Gray's book 'Why Scots should rule Scotland 1997'

If you wish to contribute, the best way to do so would be to post arguments in favour of our independence on the Free England Party forum. We will choose the best of these to go into the book. We would also be very pleasad to receive donations to help defray the cost of producing the book.

The first thing to do is to not give the Scots credit for anything.

They'll claim credit soon enough. Caledonian credit claiming is a congenital disease.

Good to see you here as well. Hoping that you will wish to contribute your thoughts to the draft.

I am unusually pro-Scotland (especially for an English nationalist) and read your post in the spirit it was given.

If of course the English independence movement had only a tiny fraction of the present levels of resources and democratic credibility of the SNP, I would be very pleased. As it is, English Independence is likely to occur when the Scottish vote for their own independence in say 2010 or 2011. A rather humiliating process for we English to regain our own nation, but the result will be the same.

So let's hope Alex Salmond stays as popular, effective and smart as he is regarded in increasing numbers by his fellow Scots.

Another excellent idea! It is important that somebody replaces the discredited EDP's who are dragging England down with them into the grave.

I think the idea of the book is really good and will help demonstrate the motivation of the party.

As long as the book is given out free, otherwise its influence will be as profound as that as any other piece of literature produced by the FEP/EDP on the electorate - NIL.
