Thumbs up England our England

My partner has an English colleague who left the homeland a while ago through a job transfer in South Africa. He marrried an English South African and his children were born here. Last week he took his ten year old son home to England to meet the family he has never seen and see his homeland.

They came back yesterday and the old man says he regained all those old memories and loved every minute and would go back tomorrow if he could. For the ten year old son England was love at first sight and he did not want to go home. On the plane he told his father he would find some way to make his way back "home", as soon as he was able if his Dad couldn't get back sooner.

There will be many more like this ten year old boy coming home to England in the future. Those who can't still support you.

What an inspiring post. And my view is that such Englishness is transmitted down the generations, so the fact that a child or grandchild and so on is born abroad does not stop them being English if this is the identity they want to have. They are still English.

Can't wait for an English government to get into power and sort out our immigration and citizenship laws. They need radical reform.

Kind Regards, Andrew

I would have come to England yonks ago when I was sixteen if I could have. It's all I and my partner have really ever wanted to do, but they tend to take unskilled immigrants from foreign cultures rather than take back their own. My partner's folk are from Suffolk and mine from Norfolk.

Maybe some day ...
