Can someone remind me how global warming works again -

I thought it was this ..
We add CO2 to atmosphere ... It works like some kind of blanket and we get warmer and warmer until we end up like Venus or something like that.

Now CO2 are at 'record' levels and it 'aint got 'significantly' warmer for over 15 years.

UAH Satellite record shows +0.1 degC ... I think that would be within normal variation ... and no discernible trend.

Even Phil Jones said this ... 15 years without warming would make him 'worried'

Met office David rose said Global Warming stopped 16 years ago (2012)

So what is the significance of the 400 ppm ? How much of it is attributable to Man ?

Most of the climate models have failed (I didn't say all because I don't know if I have seen the results from all of them)

I know, it's the Mail (which is paywall free). As a layman, my mind is spinning. I of course believe every news story I read and what the government and various agencies, scientists tell me, so these diametrically opposed views just confuse me! One day we are heading for a 2ºc planetary increase in temperatures, ice free poles and rising sea levels, starvation and everything else bad. Then the next day we are being hit by a Maunder Minimum, where no doubt we will all be skating on the Thames.

Where is Clippo? He used to say that there was a consensus. All there seems to be is uncertainty and various scientists pushing out their own thoughts on the subject.

I best go lie down as my brain can't cope.

Fridges, washing machines and other electrical goods could be switched off automatically in British homes without the owners’ consent under EU proposals to help power stations meet demand for electricity.

White goods such as electric ovens would be affected by the proposals to fit all new appliances with sensors that could shut them down when the UK's generators struggle to meet demand for power.

The measures proposed by the UK’s National Grid, along with its counterparts in 34 European countries, to install the controversial devices are backed by one of the European Union's most influential energy bodies.

They are pushing for the move because green energy sources such as wind farms are less predictable than traditional power stations, increasing the risk of blackouts

The proposals are outlined in documents drawn up by the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E), and has been agreed by the EU-wide body of energy regulators.

The proposals were sent to the European Commission on March 27, and it is set to deliver its verdict on the proposals within three months, the Mail on Sunday reported.
Another sign that our infrastructure is struggling to meet the demands an additional three million people create. Not enough homes, not enough schools and not enough power...but still the doors are open ready to welcome more.
