(JOKE:) UKIP Membership List leaked online!!!

A police officer, more than a dozen soldiers, a vicar and a Chelsea pensioner have been named on a list purporting to comprise the entire membership...

A police officer, more than a dozen soldiers, a vicar and a Chelsea pensioner have been named on a list purporting to comprise the entire membership of the UK Independence Party.

They were exposed after bloggers posted around 20,000 names, together with home addresses, telephone numbers, jobs and even hobbies on the internet.

The leak led some UKIP members to fear that they may lose their jobs or face other reprisals

At least one serving police officer is on the membership list, along with several retired officers.

The publication has sparked alarm among the UKIP's membership.

"I'm also on the list, what the **** is going on? I could lose my job," posted one member on a north-west England UKIP forum.

Another wrote: "God help anyone who is in the army, the prison service, health care, police officer or a teacher."

Police officers could face dismissal if they are found to be members of UKIP.

The publication of the membership list sparked jubilation among anti-racist groups and other left-wing critics of UKIP.

The spokesman said Mr Farage alleges that publication of his members' details violates both the Data Protection Act and the Human Rights Act.

'Incompatible'

The denial was accepted and no further action is to be taken.

The membership list also includes the name of one man alleged to be a vicar and another said to be a prison officer.

A Prison Service spokesman said membership of UKIP was "entirely incompatible with working in the Prison Service and, if it is confirmed that a member of staff belongs to one of them, they will be subject to our disciplinary procedures".

Police officers are also banned from joining, a policy which is recognised in the list.

Alongside the name of a serving officer, the document states that there is "Discretion required re. employment concerns".

The Independent Police Complaints Commission said it was content for Merseyside Police to handle a complaint about one of its officers allegedly being a UKIP member.

Under the headline 'Racist rants of the UKIP councillors', the Sunday Mirror writes:

quote

Ukip's Chris Pain, leader of the opposition at Lincs Council and the party’s East Midlands regional chairman, wrote: “Have you noticed that if you *rearrange the letters in ‘illegal *immigrants’, and add just a few more letters, it spells, ‘Go home you free-loading, benefit-grabbing, resource-sucking, baby-making, non-English-speaking ********* and take those other hairy-faced, sandal-wearing, bomb-making, camel-riding, goat-********, raghead ******** with you.’”

Mr Pain said the comments on his Facebook pages were “not my original posts or writings”, claiming his *account had been hacked.

ends

What exactly is Chris Pain saying? The so-called joke about rearranging the letters of the words 'illegal immigrants' has been around for several years, so the question is not whether it originated from him but whether he has ever posted it to Facebook? Or is he claiming that someone else, having "hacked" his account, posted it to his Facebook page without his knowledge or consent?

Police have raided a home in Dorset and arrested a so far unnamed man.

The raid took place, police say, after a tip off. Officers are still searching the premises but say they have already found extensive materials which could be used for bombmaking including tools, cable and containers of inflammable material.

A computer has been seized on which police found evidence of strong links to fascist and racist organisations including viewing BNP web sites and participating in UKIP discussion groups. An advertisement was also found for a UKIP public meeting in the area which the arrested man is believed to have attended.

Political parties have united in condemning UKIP. They say that many people have been misled about its real nature. Home Secretary, Teresa May, said that officers would leave no stone unturned in exposing the full circumstances and any involvement by others. Ed Miliband, speaking to the BBC, said it was fortunate that a possible tragedy had been prevented. "This is where racism leads and there is no place for it in our one nation society" said the Labour leader.

A nervous Nigel Farage today issued a statement saying the UKIP did all it could to exclude extremists but did not have the resources to offer a full guarantee.

The raid comes just a few days before UKIP stands in key European elections which it was expected to win.

The arrested man is being held at a specially secure location under armed guard. Investigations are expected to last until well after the elections with a possible initial court appearance shortly if charges are brought. Bail has been refused.

THE REAL STORY

Bob Smith, an unemployed man with health issues, has had several tangles with the police concerning drunkenness and is thus well-known to them. With time on his hands he often does odd jobs in the area. He has quite a collection of tools including pliers, screwdrivers and drills plus a soldering iron and bits of wire. He also has a bottle of turps for painting and some spray cans of paint with warnings to keep away from naked flames. He spends a lot of time surfing the web. He looks a lot at newspapers and sites about politics of all kinds. He told friends that the web had got him off watching daytime TV which became boring.

A neighbour from the Labour party rang the police some while ago saying she was suspicious of him after seeing him carrying a holdall of tools and also having seen him outside a UKIP meeting. This was noted as possible criminal intelligence concerning extremists in the area. Police had been instructed to place extra resources towards building a picture of racist networks in Dorset following the success of UKIP in local elections.

Police locally regard Smith as aimiable and harmless. "Not the sharpest knife in the box but a tryer" said one officer. However, after the call from the Labour party he was placed on a list of those requiring further monitoring.

Ah, I got you there - I was only kidding! :) Actually, the papers are reporting tonight a new ComRes poll showing UKIP on a record high rating of 19%, which is an increase of 4% on last month. Labour down by 3%, Tories down by 1%, LibDems flatlining at only 8% (ie less than half of UKIP's current support).

However, a posting on Conservative Home says that there is also a poll just out from Opinium (presumably for the Observer tomorrow) putting UKIP on 20% for the first time.

That is not a typo. I did write twenty percent.

UKIP has never hit the twenties before in national polls of general election voting intentions. This is a whole new statistical territory. And lo, there is much wailing and rending of clothes at Conservative Campaign Head Quarters.

In the 2nd World War, the highest British casualty rate was suffered by the young men of Bomber Command

Of some 145,000 aircrew, 55,000 were killed in action

Let's run that by once again

Some 145,000 aircrew, 55,000 killed

Now the area bombing conducted by Harris with the full support of Churchill was (in retrospect)a massive waste of resources. It achieved not enough for the resources that were deployed.

But is was all that Britain could offer to Russia, where the real battles of WW2 were fought
Millions of Russian soldiers were killed in the defeat of the Boche

And all Britain could offer was saturation bombing of German cities

So the bomber offensive was waged and continued even when it became absolutely clear that Germany would be defeated

Because Britain's massive bombing capacity was there, it was used even though it was not strictly necessary to use it

So Hamburg and Dresden and Munich were razed to the ground to impress the Russians

And 55,000 young British airmen lost their lives doing so

When the war was finished Churchill became precious about the role of bomber command - even denied his own responsibility in the terrible destruction that it had wreaked upon the German people

Bomber Command became a pariah

Those young men that had performed their job so bravely, obeyed orders over which they had no control were cast into the wilderness to assuage the guilt that Churchill and other War Ministers felt

It took 60 years to build a war monument to Bomber Command, 50 years to honour Harris with a statue

No medal was awarded to the brave young men of Bomber Command

And still we withhold our respect in the most curmudgeonly fashion

It was decided just this year that the remaining bomber crews would receive an award

A clasp to pin on their WW2 General medals

No specific medal for their service

How I sometimes hate our establishment with a visceral hatred
