I really cannot understand why the monarch thinks she should have to sign this treaty, it must surely and completely alter her status with her people and her parliament, and to her position as head of state?
I wonder what would happen is she chose to abdicate on the basis that her status is being completely undermined and her relationship to her subjects and that of coronation oath rendered irrelevent. |

How can you sign something that is unreadable?, would be my question.

Queen Victoria was the last monarch to personally sign the Assent I believe.
HMQ would however be kept abreast of all bills waiting for Royal Assent . Maybe she was clever to leave it to Milliband and co to rush it through inspite of the Wheeler case .Give them enough rope ........ |
