Default 64% want a referendum on EU Lisbon 'Treaty' opinion poll for BBC reveals

Here are the results of a COMRES opinion poll conducted in June 2008 for the BBC 2 Television Daily Politics programme (Source: Daily Politics 10.6.2008)

* Should there be a referendum on the EU Lisbon ‘Treaty’?

Yes 64%.

No, leave it to ‘Parliament’ to decide on the EU Lisbon ‘Treaty’ 26%

* How would you vote in a referendum on the EU Lisbon ‘Treaty’?

All age groups:

For EU Lisbon ‘Treaty’ 33%

Against EU Lisbon ‘Treaty’ 40%

Undecided 27%

Aged under 35:

For EU Lisbon ‘Treaty’ 44%

Against EU Lisbon ‘Treaty’ 32%

Don’t Know 28%

** Of those aged over 35 29% said that they would vote for the EU Lisbon ‘Treaty’ in a referendum.

This is just another example of how our bosses in the palace think they can confuse the whole debate on Europe. I don't want a referendum on the EU Treay, I want a vote to get out of the whole fecking mess.

That is what people need to be asked, and that is the only thing that matters.
