Seconded.

The view of most commentators in the media is that making the Irish people vote again until they give "the correct" answer would (understandably) cause outrage in Ireland (although the europhile 'elite' there would probably favour another referendum in the hope that they could split up the movement against the unwanted EU 'Treaty' through "minor policy concessions" and win by getting just enough previous No voters to vote Yes to get above 50% of the ballot).

All attempts by the EU to try to bully the people of Ireland into voting again on this and all attempts by the EU to try to get the measures in this unwanted EU Constitution Lisbon 'Treaty' passed regardless of the referendum No votes in France, Holland and in the Irish Republic must and will be opposed by all pro-sovereignty campaigners.

all this rubbish i am hearing i.e Why should 490 million Europeans be held hostage by a few hundred thousand Irish voting no?

first off 490 million Europeans would not be held hostage if the eu would of let them vote, its the eu that is holding 490 million Europeans hostage not ireland.

They make the rules up and when they do not get what they want they just change the rules so that they always win. Funny they get upset when Mugabe does the same thing. I can not see any difference between the EU methods and his.

Quality posting above .

I was listening to Irish radio as the referendum results came in last Thursday - and the first thing the europhile guests (all Irish) in the radio studio said when they heard that it was to be a No result was "why should less than a million votes in Ireland decide the future of europe?"

To which I would have replied "Why should an EU Commission with no votes at all decide that 500 million people in europe are to have the EU Constitution Lisbon 'Treaty against their wishes?
