Petition to Her Majesty the Queen regarding the Lisbon Treaty

This is my first post on these forums .I stumbled across the site when searching for the petition to the Queen with regard to Gordon Browns despicable action in denying us The People of Great Britain a legitimate voice in the future well being of our once great country .
I can only hope HM will act to stop this appalling governments final act of betrayal .
I will also forward the adress of the UKIP site to all of my contacts via the internet and am certain they will add their name to this very important petition.

I sadly think the Queen will do nothing. None of the petitions, protests or letters to MP's have achieved anything on this subject.
What a joke Democracy has become in this country.

Democracy for the people of this sad country died in 1997 I have yet to meet anyone who will admit they were taken in by- and voted for this incompetent ? very destructive Labour Government.

REPLY: Admittedly we have not yet got the result we want.

But look back at 2003/4. Then, Blair and the Labour government were implacably opposed to a referendum on the E.U. Constitution and showed not a sign of buckling. They stood their ground wityhoutr yielding an inch for 2 years.

CREC began its postcard petition in May 2003 - and by May 2004 we had distributed 175,000 purple postcards, most of which we know were signed and sent in. The Queen was getting several hundred purple postcards a day and the Queen's Chief Correspondence Secretary, Ms Deborah Bean, wrote to us and made a specific point in her letter of saying that the Queen "has asked to be regularly briefed on the number of postcards being recieved".

More significantly in terms of numbers, John Gouriet, Roy Faiers (Editor, 'This England') and their group 'Defenders of the Realm' raised 1,150,000 signatures calling for a referendum. A very large petition indeed for this country.

And there were other campaigns.

Pressure built up.

And then, when no-one was expecting it, in May 2004, Blair relented, in a speech made through gritted teeth in which he didn't actually use the word referendum once, but said: 'The British people will have their say on the Constitution'.

In this current campaign, several Liberal Democrat MPs were turned by public pressure on them, accusing them of breaking their promises.

There is the House of Lords.

There is the Queen. She and her advisers will have noted the referendums in 10 constituencies with 88% demanding a referendum and 90% saying they would vote against Lisbon.

I understand your pessimism, Ea of Dune. But has fighting against the odds ever deterred the British?

NOW is the moment to accelerate our campaigning. The government are on the defensive. Let us therefore attack by every means at our disposal until we get that referendum. The one we were *promised*. In three *election manifestos*.

I voted for the scum in 1997, but never again. Ploblem is Blue Labour and the Flid Dems aren't any better.
