The strategy of the europhiles in the UK is probably to try get the maximum number of people in our country using the euro (by force if necessary) so that they (the europhiles) can then claim that the euro is already in use widely across the UK so the British people may as well vote for it to replace the Pound in a referendum (if there is ever a referendum on the Pound/euro in the UK). In other words - the europhiles are trying to bring the euro in 'through the back door'. I have long warned of this. We must be vigilant. Some anti-EU campaigners have said that "the battle to save the Pound" is won. I do not agree. The europhiles are waiting to launch another drive to kill our Pound as soon as they think they have a chance of succeeding. ![]() |

Indeed Britannist. If anything, I believe the fight to keep the Pound Sterling will become harder every year.
I know of more people each year (worryingly, young people) who would like to see the UK join the Euro sooner rather than later, under the belief that this will simplify visits to the continent.

The only ray of hope for me, is as people get older, they get more wise and stuck in their ways.
A double whammy for making youngster to convert later on in life. Also they will realise how much they were brainwashed as time goes on.

To all those who haven't heard yet, late spring every single one of our Sterling coins is being completely redesigned, the designs aren't yet announced.

Why? What is the point of wasting money on this?

The Gov't isn't wasting money, they have plenty, besides they can always depend on the criminal speeders of the car owning fraternity for funds and taxes.
Seen in my local rag today,4 speeders fined, from £200 to £500,plus cost plus fees charged.Next column, agravated assault=12 m cond discharge, plus costs and fee, next case was 12m com order assaulting a police officer and other charges. Using your car means be ready to continue to pay out. |

Some voters may need to be reminded that the cost and damage to the UK of the euro would be far greater than saving a small amount of change in not having to switch Pounds for euros at a Bureau de Change. I remember - before the euro came into use in most parts of western europe - travelling from Belgium to Luxemberg. I did not need to change my Belgian Francs into Luxemberg money: the shops in Luxemberg willingly excepted Belgian money which was worth about the same as Luxemberg money. There is no need for a 'single european currency'. UKIP and the entire anti-EU movement need to reach (among others) younger voters - those who may not be old enough to remember the battles of the early 1990's to stop the europhile fool Major forcing the UK into the euro - to warn them of the dangers of the euro and of the EU Superstate now under construction. ![]() |
