Default Another Parish Poll

The people of Fittleton, Salisbury Plain go to the polls tomorrow to vote on a Referendum on the EU Treaty. Run by a UK Independence Councillor (Alan Wood) I think. Less than 200 people. The Lib/Dems are still telling lies about losing over 3,000 jobs if we have to renegotiate the EU Treaty.

Update:

Quote:
Yorkshire village demands referendum on EU Constitution
Quote:
PA reports that villagers in Crigglestone, Yorkshire, yesterday voted overwhelmingly in favour of a referendum on the EU Constitution. 505 electors turned out to vote, with 481 - or 95% - backing the referendum. Alex Story, the organiser of the parish referendum, said this was higher than the turn-out for a local election, with more than one vote being placed per minute, and proved that people want a poll on the EU Treaty. "It was a really big success," he said. "I was so proud to see people vote on something they felt was an important topic."
Apologies if this has been posted before.

The results of these polls are in line with my experience with people.

Which begs the question. Are we being lied to about the true support for the EU?

If we are being lied to on this. What else might they be lying to us about? How about Genreal Election results?

Yes, that thought crossed my mind some time ago. I rarely meet someone who says they voted for Labour in the last general election.

Yes, but you and I live in the (small 'c') conservative South West. Labour's support is mainly in the cities, the North, Scotland and Wales.

For example, you would probably struggle to find someone in Newcastle (upon Tyne) who didn't vote Labour.

EA, I live in Gloucester which has a Labour MP. I may live on the edge of Gloucester but I live in a (supposedly) very pro-Labour area.

I did say mainly . I live near pro-Labour areas too (Plymouth), but in the SW these are the exceptions. I repeat my comment about Labour's support being concentrated in cities, the North, Scotland and Wales.

Yes, Cities. I live in one. Yet still, I don't ever find many people who say they've voted Labour.
