I wonder if Blair will actually listen, or if he will send us all a ridiculous email arguing how giving our money and political power to Brussels is somehow a good thing.

Thankfull it won't be Blair by the time this one goes in.

While I don't expect the establishment to listen to these petitions, the people signing them might actually wake up and smell the coffee if the big ones keep getting ignored.

Come on folks! This is really SERIOUS. The last time somebody tried to take our Sovereignty away was in 1940. Now it's happening and nobody seems to care much. People are more concerned if their local football team lose. Gordon Brown is about to sign away 300 years of British Independence, 700 years of Parliamentary democracy and the lives of millions who fought to deny the Nazis the pleasure of subjugating Europe......and nobody cares? Good post - but I suspect it is more gobsmackedness that is presently stopping people from acting rather than indifference.

Earthling - I don't think it would make any difference if it was 265,000, this government wouldn't take the least bit of notice.
pj mansfield had an anti EU petition ongoing for a considerable time, collecting 24599 sig's (closed Jan '08) NFs ongoing petition (closing 11/7/'08) 9445 - Grand total of 34044 after aprox, what?, 18 months of petitioning!!!!!!
