All in SW
Alan Wood sends this note to everyone re the recent furore in councils about flying both the Union Jack and the EUnion flags. Please contact your councillors with this suggestion. John Kelly It is within the ability of any UKIP District Councillor to bring a MOTION before Council to bar the flying of EU flags on Council buildings in their Council area. This I have done in Kennet DC with the help of a Councillor who is an Independent, but onside. The motion says that only the Union Jack shall be flown on Kennet DC buildings. In our council this will be referred to the appropriate committee for consideration and recommendation before being brought back to full council for ratification. The important thing about this move is that the predominant group in the Council (often Conservative or Lib-Dem in the South West) with the most votes have to show their true colours by supporting or not-supporting the motion. It is useful evidence of their attitude to the EU. Cllr. Alan Wood Kennet DC |

Well done White Knight. I admire your principals - not only in the recent postings you've been sending to the discussion (thread) on religion - but by how you are putting the Fiberal 'Democrats' on the spot by making them choose about the flag.
I just hope voters in the relevant wards will be told if their Fiberal 'Democrat' votes against the Union Jack (Flag) . Hardly a vote winning decision. White Knight also said (Quote) The motion says that only the Union Jack shall be flown on Kennet DC buildings (End of Quote) But what about the national flag of England (St. George's Red cross on white background) ? |
