Default Eurosceptics set to take Blair on

Quote:
Labour eurosceptics will urge voters to give Tony Blair a 'poke in the eye' over the European Union constitution as the battle lines are drawn for the forthcoming referendum.
The 'no' campaign hopes to harness the mood of protest revealed during the general election campaign to turn the ballot, expected next year, INTO phpbb_an effective referendum on his personal popularity.

The Labour 'no' grouping is expected to make common cause with Liberal Democrats, Greens and trade unionists opposed to the constitution - although it is not prepared to work with groups such as Ukip or Veritas.

Convienient in fact.

Still rather than moan, we should try and ustilise all the EU talk that is going to go on now. This is an oportunity for us to get our message out and show people how big the EU issue really is and why we put such focus on it.

This is the sinister bit:

Quote:

The lefties are already massaging the debate so that a "No" vote can be spun as a vote against T Bliar, not the EU constitution.

Another intrigueing thought; what possibility of the constitution not making it through parliament, never mind a referendum?

This becomes more of a possibility given the reduction in the Labour majority

It amuses me that the first old party M.P's to speak out on the EU are from Labour.
