Default CO2 levels & Methane increasing faster than ever

This news report indicates CO2 levels at the end of 2007 were over 386 ppm and rising faster than ever compared to recent decades.
Similarly, with Methane although the last paragraph hints at another cause for Methane.

Given the increasingly unstable state of the oceanic methane clathrates, we might have an incredibly dangerous situation with the climate.

"faster than ever compared to recent decades"

What we have here boys and girls is Clippo demonstrating a perfect example of the language used by environmental scaremongers to try and make things look much worse than they are.

Something can't rise faster than ever compared to recent decades, the way it is said here gives the impression that CO2 levels have never risen faster which is not something that is mentioned anywhere in the article.

Blimey are we still below 400. It's still a tiny trace gas that the planet could do with having a lot more of then.

Ok Mr Picky, I wrote this hurriedly and may not have have expressed it perfectly. Now read the article again and comment on the the accuracy of the following extract :-

Quote:
"The average (annual rise) over the last five or six years has been 2 ppm and that is actually steeper than it has been in previous decades," he said. "This whole decade the rate of increase has accelerated, and we have a very clear candidate (for the cause) and that's emissions from burning fossil fuels."
How would you have put it in a post ?
