China's richest woman runs a Chinese recycling operation for our rubbish recycling. She would have no trouble buying sufficient carbon credits to heat her swimming pool.

It's interesting to note that recycling was not considered very profitable before these Marxists decided to distort the free market.

Another example is Dale Vince who runs Ecotricity. How did he transform himself from one of the Southwest's largest cocaine dealers into one of this country's most successful entrepreneurs? I happen to know he picked up a book on EU grants and plus he is blackmailable. This information has been forwarded to me by someone who used to know him personally during the time he set up his business.

Here is the official version:

Renewable energy and climate change news

Like Zac Goldsmith. Someone who is rightwing hates the EU yet he does exactly what the EU wants him to do regarding the environment. He was the one who told Cameron to promote green taxes. One Conservative was right to point out that this is the first time the party has ever gone into an election promoting taxes. Shortly after that their healthy lead over Labour was more than halved and Cameron pulled back. He still rides a bicycle and has his shoes delivered in an official state provided car following him though. It seems his popularity hinges these days on how anti-EU he says he is. During the referendum business he pretended to be anti-EU and his lead went right up again.

What's wrong with recycling exactly? Seems like a perfectly sensible policy to me.

It's not like the world has unlimited resources.

I was pointing out that it was not done for those reasons but to line the pockets of government cronies. China is not exactly known for its concern for the environment and so you get an unlevel playing field with is tilted towards a communist regime with abysmal human rights records. Also some recycling would be uneconomic without the green regime being in place. My guess is that this indicates some of it requires more resources than it produces. The free market is more than capable of optimising this all by itself. That was before people like Tescos started a price war on milk and so it put the milkman out of business, where all milk bottles were returnable.

Mind you if you think about it we won't run out of anything because it all remains on the planet in one form or another. I expect some of the irrecoverable materials today will be recoverable in the future when we have better technology. Even so I'm not one for excessive packaging and also I know I have to pay extra for it as well. However if I lived in a Tescos town I couldn't do anything about it, could I, what with one shop to choose from.

mkpdavies, lol.

This being a public forum, well, there are ways to survive quite nicely
for this "poor" woman as my government classifies me.

Now mind y'all, I've heard aluminum cans sells for $.60 a pound here and they say it takes 28 12 oz. cans to equal a pound.

Now mind y'all, folks gladly will throw their cans in a "special bucket"
set up for aluminum cans.

Dealing in cash is so lovely. Dealing without a bank account is even
more lovely.

Ah well you picked a right one there. Friends of the Earth are as bent as a nine bob note. If you dug a little into their history you would most likely be a little shocked. They are no friends of the people; they have an elite agenda much like the other one, Greenpeace. Run by the elite for the elite would be about the right way to sum them up.

Maybe you should have asked them who they think would be on their death list once the CO2 reduction measures have crippled industry to the point where there is not enough to go around to keep everyone alive. Ask them what they would do when there are food riots and would they bring in marshal law and shoot people.

You will often find the ones that make the biggest deal about being nice are in fact the biggest wolves of the lot.
