Climate change 'may put world at war'
From the 'Graph
Quote:
Climate change could cause global conflicts as large as the two world wars but lasting for centuries unless the problem is controlled, a leading defence think tank has warned.

The Royal United Services Institute said a tenfold increase in research spending, comparable to the amount spent on the Apollo space programme, will be needed if the world is to avoid the worst effects of changing temperatures.
Quote:
The report said: "If climate change is not slowed and critical environmental thresholds are exceeded, then it will become a primary driver of conflicts between and within states."

I've heard of 'heated arguments' - but there are many who will say that this claim (in the article on the link in the first posting to this thread) is taking things a bit far...

You still have the capacity to surprise me Britannist. Based on your previous behaviour and expressed nationalistic views, I would have thought you would have taken notice of what the Royal United Services Institute has to say. For example, from Wiki:-
Royal United Services Institute - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
RUSI describes itself as
“ the leading forum in the UK for national and international Defence and Security ”

You wrote:-

There has and no, not all.

But I suspect if you closely examine some of the reasons for some of the previous wars you will find and ‘aggressor looking for resources’ or one group denying resources’ to another group.

In the case of AGW, a possible scenarios are shortages of food due to desertification, lack of water from Climate changes and aggressive migration.

I know that the CIA studied these scenarios years ago, so we must presume other national defence agencies have done the same.

I accept it isn’t a ‘war’ in the usual sense, but many historians consider adverse climatic shifts affecting food production was a major factor in initiating the French Revolution ( let them eat cake ?)

I haven't got a clue what you are on about (i.e. your odd claims quoted above - "previous behaviour" and "nationalist views").

How about clipo just buzzes off and promotes his own stuff instead of giving out instructions to others to do so?

This has been debunked in a recent study
