The 5/10 mph was a guestimate but could it also be the fact that turbine bearings have been regularly wiped because of the sand and pollutive acids in the air in large amounts close by?
Told this only a couple of hours ago, anyway, they dont work or produce anything at all,I'm spreading the word about them, they have become a local joke being refered to as our trio of ornamental windmills. I would think this could be a reason. |

Labour seem to be doing everything possible to support one particular type of 'renewable' energy - wind turbines. Most of which are made overseas (mainly in Denmark). |

I have no hard facts, one way or the other, everyone has their own ideas on these windmills of course, but info is thin on the ground, will continue with my monitoring and enquiring.

The 3 windmills here are run by EON,they were top of the range machines when installed a couple of years ago, each is 6MW capacity, not bad if they worked on a regular basis I must say.18MW would supply a lot of homes too,I have been told at least 35,000 of them,is this about right Besoeker?
Also, info coming in tells me that the subsidy pays a bunch of money to EON,this subsidy is known as the RO but I will be getting more concise info soon on it all I hope. Apparently a DTi top guy made the statement recently that if these ROs didn't exist, then the Windmills wouldn't exist either. More later on with a link or two I expect. |

But 18MW output would require about 60MW capacity, not 18MW. I also wonder about the 6MW capacity of each.... Could it possibly be 6MW total? |

I don't know.
I do know that householders may still be able to apply for a solar panel subsidy but that this useless Labour Government cut the subsidy recently. As we know there is a subsidy for wind turbines run by energy companies but I do not know if there is one for householders who decide to install a mini-turbine on their property. |

Well,no feedback yet on the 3 ornamental windmills except to report that today is the 39th day that they have not been in production.
If these 3 windmills can supply power to 35,000 homes, that would be enough to supply the whole town here, but, would it be cheaper,or free even? The operators are subsidised by what are known as ROCs (Renewable Obligation Certificates) so,are these payments to them on top of the massive bills we all get from them every month?
