There is one that I pass nearly every day on my travel to and from my office. I can't say that I have every seen it stationary. On a slightly different note, wind energy in total is a very small contribution to UK energy. A few non-operational units in your area isn't a real big issue in itself. |

Still no production from these 3 turbines yet,day # 33.
If itts a system fault it must be massive, but the real problem is wind power, too much.or too little, not much they can do about that is there? Maybe relocate them further down the coast? That would only cost another couple of million I expect. |

I don't know the rating of the turbines but the transformer or transformers are not likely to be greater than 3MVA in total. In power system terms, you couldn't reasonably describe that as massive. As I mentioned, I haven't seen the one I pass ever stationary. It is in a relatively bad area for wind according to the BWEA map. NE England is rather better. That's part of what makes me think that there may be a problem other than wind speed. |

I'm looking at them right now, they are only about 400/500 yards apart,in front of a ridge, zero wind.(5/10mph max).
I'm sure this is going on in many more locations and am still waiting for info on this. |
