I was not aware it was mandatory for Britannist or any other member of the forum to post every piece written on climate change from the independant, may we who have commited this grave sin humbly repent of it.

By the way you have missed something of even greater importance which will certainly affect the way this country tackles the problems that you feel our occuring.

Can you think what it is?

The elephant in the room has to be population - but of course the Independent couldn't mention that.

Nobody (in opinion-forming circles or authority) is mentioning it !!! I certainly have shied away from mentioning it here.

Do you have opinions on this ? (N.B. I won't react irrationally or emotionally to any of your suggestions)

In what way ? Do you think that some of the tipping points have , or are being passed.

Actually, on re-reading this, it seems to suggest that the concepts of these tipping points came out of a 'meeting' in 2005 but that the results of the study are now being, or have very recently been, reported in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Do you reject the possibility that human activity is having some affect on the climate?
