Default UK working on low carbon stratosphere jet to fly London-Sydney in 4 hrs. 40 mins

I brought up the subject of the invention of a low-carbon emitting hypersonic jet flying on the edge of the atmosphere (or just above it) to Australia only the other day in this section of the forum -

UK working on low carbon stratosphere jet which will fly London to Sydney in 4 hours & 40 minutes (perhaps even just 4 hours and 30 minutes) :

The aircraft, code-named A2, is still on the drawing board.

But it has a tiny carbon footprint as it produces only water vapour and nitrous oxide as exhaust.
So what about the carbon used to manufacture the aircraft & presumably the Hydrogen/Oxygen fuel . (Okay, this might be made from renewable electricity but that would reduce supply of this electricity to other sources – maybe to be made up by CO2 produced electricity)
Further technical note :- Oxides of nitrogen are ‘thousands’ more times as bad as CO2 from the GW perspective. They probably mean very small amounts but nevertheless it would be emitted again in the worst place in the atmosphere.

It must be very depressing to be you. Pouring cold water on every new idea. Of course no idea is correct in your mind unless it involves huge hikes in taxation and foreign powers deciding what is best for us. Oh and we all know you will dney your europhile tendenceys but please dont expect us to beleive you.

If/when this comes off, people may decide Australia is not that far away and decide to emigrate there.

I am afraid with the Rudd Government now in power Australia will become as unapealing to live as here.

1. I forgot to include in my earlier post that most sceptics claim the water vapour is a much worse greenhouse gas than CO2 - and water vapour is indeed the major component of this fuel system.

2. re mpkdavies. If I didn't have overwhelming familiy ties here in the UK, I would indeed have great difficulty in choosing between Australia or NZ to emigrate to like a shot (with Canada a distant 3rd). The bad news is that if global temperatures rise by, I think, ~3 deg C much of the currently populated regions of Australia are likely to become uninhabitable.

Au contraire, - I desperately want my children & grandchildren etc. to have as good a life as I have had but pinning my hopes on flawed technology is a waste of time. Do you not have the ability to analyse the merits & demmerits of a proposal.
No, of course not - you have only one hackneyed response - blame it on the EU. About as useful as a back-scratcher outside a diving suit.

So, even tho' this thread is 'technology based, share with us your practical proposals to get us 'out' of the EU ? Tell us how YOU propose to combat the
tax-hiking foreign powers?

I believe that what is now Australia split off the Gondwana supercontinent postulated in geological history about ?200 million years ago - taking with it its' natural flora & fauna which in turn evolved independently to give the unusual life forms there now. Ergo, there is no indication that it has ever been uninhabitable previously although of course populations of life there will have risen & fallen in tandem with the previous mass extinctions.
I believe Australia was first colonised by Aborigines 50,000-100,000 years ago.
(PS I haven't checked any of this with wikipedia)

So, perhaps now you are starting to see the seriousness of the possible effects of AGW.

No but it now has a government commited to a backward looking ecnomic policy, that will hike taxes up making the economy less productive and create a subsistance culture which benefits the idle and penalises the hard working. It will also seek to weaken the ties between Australia and Britian.
