True but my impression was that he was just posting some graphs that he had produced and so it was not intended to be a final paper summing the entire theory up. For all we know he may have gone through these points at some earlier stage since it did look much like a sort of interim collection of stuff with no attempt to go through the entire thing rigorously.

People tend to do this all the time these days now we have the Internet, indeed in the early days the Internet was almost entirely used by academics for this sort of thing. I find that far more believable than him not checking the basis of all his theory hinges on, unless of course he was intending to deceive but that does not look too likely either or he would have some glossy website pushing the stuff like mad. Such detailed science is hardly going to get a wide audience in that form and anyone on that level would not be deceived that easily anyway.
