A. I said that the global oil industry now recognises that the current phase of GW is caused, in the main, by CO2 emissions from burning fossils fuels. I have no idea whether they believe the planet is going to be destroyed. You ask them. (For support for my statement I submit below public domain information about the Global Climate Coalition. (from Wikipedia because I really can’t be bothered to trawl out the acres of criticism from so many other sources).

I have no idea what they are willing to sacrifice ?

It seems to me you are making the assumption that they (global oil industry) do believe that AGW is going to destroy the world and therefore their children will be sacrificed but will carry on producing & burning regardless for short term profit.
But in case you hadn’t noticed, this matter is now out of their hands. Cuts in emissions, and therefore consumption, are being demanded by world governments. They’ll still make their profits of course by market forces raising the price of ever diminishing resources.
So basically your 2nd question is illogical.

At some point mpkdavies you are going to face the reality that you’ve been duped hook, line & sinker by the disinformation campaign of nearly 20 years ago, orchestrated by the GCC but who have now joined the consensus view of AGW and left you suckers high & dry (or up s**t creek without an intellectual paddle).

BP does more than just recognise it, they along with other British conglomerates like ICI were supporting the green movement from its inception, circa 1970s. Naturally this was all self-interest but it is absolutely wrong to say the oil industry are against MMGW, they are in on it. BP for example makes most of the solar panels and has a new £400 million biofuel refinery, even though you are probably aware of the controversies to do with biofuel, some even supported amongst the greens oddly enough.

Anyway I'm aware of what the official line is, I was listening to a BBC radio programme the other night and it was pure propaganda, so blatant in fact that I would have mistaken it for Pravda. That's what the BBC were telling us, its all Exxon's fault. They are the boogieman against all of reason and civilised humanity as promulgated by BBC know-it-alls and general fashion accessories (Exxon is American of course, the BBC never talked about BP in those terms).

Why don't you do some research & find out. I have seen previously extensive lists of Bilderberger attendees but you must discover this yourself.

The only problem I think you'll have is identifying oil company's reps from the thousands of other companies.

Very few attendees seem to be Jewish and their (Bild's) openness suggets to me the extreme un-likelyhood of them being a conspiracy to dominate the world. (& no ! I've never been).

Assuming 'it' to be the consequences of GW, (note I left the 'A' out to reduce controversy), and 'yours' to be BVL, you may be right.

However, what worries me, even tho' I've only a short time left in all probability, is that these predictions were based on research analysed by the last IPCC report, in turn based on a data cut-off point nearly 2 years ago.

All the scientifically measured indicators since then are showing an acceleration of GW and thus a shortening of the time the effects will bite.

Why don't you go and research the links in Wiki on Exxon/Global Climate Coalition ? The Exxon one is particularly informative.

You may find that, contrary to your accusations of BBC propaganda, they are only quoting, as I said in my earlier post, information which is in the publc domain, particularly in the USA and undenied by Exxon. Furthermore, I think you may find these accusations have been disclosed at Congress level in the USA as well.

Best to restrain yourself from shooting from the lip to maintain some credibility.

No they aren't. Some are showing the complete opposite.
