That's the sort of thing they should focus on.

Yes, but detailed technical information seems a bit sparse.

One executive said hybrid sports cars were aimed at "eco-conscious but hedonistic motorists who want the pleasures of driving without the guilty conscience".
Someone's missing the point of a sports car. Which is feeling. There's little point in a sports car in which you can't hear the V8 growling - it's soulless.

Good point.
Growling is a good description for a V8. For me, they epitomise a big lazy engine. I drove a Roller for a bit. A 6.7l V8. And not all that quiet for a top marque.
Smoother, quieter, and much quicker was the V12 XJS.
But if you want that sound, handling, and pace, a flat six is the way to go.

Well, same thing - soul.

V8 for a big lazy yank.
V12 for a Grand Turismo.
Flat 6 for a bit of German gruff.
Flat 12 if you like rolling your suit sleeves up.

Who on earth wants to go have fun in a car which you can't hear and feel? Might as well stay at home with the Playstation.

The Toyota hybrid has a a 3.5-litre V6. That might make a decent sound.
