Growling is a good description for a V8. For me, they epitomise a big lazy engine. I drove a Roller for a bit. A 6.7l V8. And not all that quiet for a top marque. Smoother, quieter, and much quicker was the V12 XJS. But if you want that sound, handling, and pace, a flat six is the way to go. ![]() |

Well, same thing - soul.
V8 for a big lazy yank. V12 for a Grand Turismo. Flat 6 for a bit of German gruff. Flat 12 if you like rolling your suit sleeves up. ![]() Who on earth wants to go have fun in a car which you can't hear and feel? Might as well stay at home with the Playstation. |
