It is shocking to watch film footage of poor seals being hit over the head with a metal rod. It's not something any readers of this would want to happen to themselves.

If there are too many seals and the food chain is being affected, then some should be removed and isolated and given some medication to stop breeding any more.

This all requires more effort, but does not involve the killing of animals.

Few, rightly, would tolerate a country's Government saying "due to food shortages we are having to kill off 10% of our population by banging each one of those 10% over the head with an iron bar."

Maybe MMGW will be used to explain the rise in teenage pregnancies? Why not. It seems like a perfect excuse for an incompetent government.

I can see it now: "Global warming responsible for increase in STIs", "Global warming responsible for teenage pregnancies".

I wasn't condoning it - just commenting that if global warming is boosting their sex life it's going to exacerbate the problem.

More to the point: Yes it's an inhumane way to kill the blighters, but they're going at it like all hells.
