I did qualify this with my opening post:
I know that there are many on this forum who believe that GW has not been caused by man, but merely a cyclic event. However, for those who do believe that mankind's activities has been the major cause and for those who can put aside their true convictions for a while - what [then] should be Britains response? It may be preposterous to you - but, I think, there is little doubt that mainstream science does hold this view and increasingly so. |

A more precise description of what I was asking is:
What if those scientists who believe that global warming is caused by mankind's activities, are correct. I asked this question to see if I could get a discussion going on what, in this case, should be Britain's response. Clearly, with many on the site believing the current GW being experienced is a natural occurance - it is difficult to get a serious discussion going. It had occurred to me that, if viewed objectively, many people might not agree with the government's approach - which seems to be aimed at protecting vested interest - rather than tackling the problem head on. Packaging - generally unnecessary - one would expect to be one of the first items to be tackled. I have previously mentioned extending the life of cars [also other high tech items] through refits, however, both of these are against the interests of the very large corporations. |
