Default Taxpayers see green over Prince's flight

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...9/ngreen19.xml

The Prince of Wales's plans to fly to America at taxpayers' expense to pick up an environmental award were slammed as "a bad joke" by environmentalists yesterday.

Quote:
Prince Charles will fly to America to collect an environmental award

The Prince, the Duchess of Cornwall, and their 20-strong entourage will fly next week to Philadelphia and New York, where he is to collect the Harvard Club's Global Environmental Citizen Award from Meryl Streep, the Hollywood actress, and Al Gore, the former US vice president and presidential candidate.
You couldn't make it up.

We be green. Honest Guv.
Mrs B planted three new trees today.
But I'm gonna shoot the bluddy starlings who perch in our birch tree and craaaap on my car when it is not in the garage.
It is shiiity behaviour on their part. Reciprocal action wouldn't please them.

Charles cancelling his holiday is equally silly.

It's the only practical way to get there from UK.
I suppose his other option would be not to bother going at all.
Anyway, according to you, the contribution his flight, or indeed all flights, have to greenhouse gasses is insignificant.

This only increases my lack of respect for the green/environmental organisations. It's pathetic. Shouldn't they actually be criticising the award for organising an event and inviting people from across the world?
It's the Prince's job to represent the UK (and other countries) around the world, but unfortunately the Royals are an easy target. If the UK was a president, presumably he would have gone over to pick up the award.
I suppose the Royal family should stay in London from now on, sell all their cars and put down all their horses and stick a couple of wind generators on Buckingham Palace.
Lefty republican morons.

That was what I was trying to get at. How can anyone take a word they say seriously?
