An MP has launched an attack on airline carbon emissions and branded low-cost airline Ryanair as "the irresponsible face of capitalism".

In an interview with the Guardian, environment minister Ian Pearson said that government plans to cut carbon emissions by 60 per cent by 2050 are being put under threat by low-cost airlines.

Yesterday, Ryanair announced that its passenger numbers grew by 19 per cent in December 2006, with over 3 million passengers taking to the skies. Just over 40.5 million people flew with Ryanair throughout 2006.

The airline's chief executive, Michael O'Leary says his company will boycott an EU scheme that would see flights flying in, out and within the EU charged an additional levy as part of a carbon trading scheme.

"When it comes to climate change, Ryanair are not just the unacceptable face of capitalism, they are the irresponsible face of capitalism. O'Leary just seems to take pride in refusing to recognise that climate change is a genuine problem," Mr Pearson said of Ryanair.
O'Leary going up against the EU had to provoke this reaction from the axis. Not so long ago the EU wanted to take all the credit for cheap flights. Now they have found a voodoo stick to beat gullable people with, they have turned on the people who don't back them 100%.

This bell end blows the cover of the axis, by attacking Ryanair as the unacceptable face of capitalism. They hate people like O'Leary, who really did give the proles a chance to travel only their masters ever could before.

Hear hear!

I flew with Ryanair once, about six years ago on a 45-minute "city hop" flight. The plane was an old TAP reject, but I still liked the service.

Here in the antipodes I'll have you know I fly as much as possible with Virgin Blue, Branson's budget airline, and its subsidiaries such as Pacific Blue in NZ. My most recent flight with them was delayed nearly two hours, but there you have it, and even expensive airlines get delayed sometimes.

The Soviet régime in Brusskva turning on Ryanair only vindicates that company's CEO's statement about the Union being "Stalinist".

O'Leary has a vested interest in disbelieving or ignoring global warming.
It's hardly surprising that he is on that side of the fence.

It would be silly to read anything more into this.

Fact is,WE ARE CAPITALISTS.

What does that make this dirty Labour Government when one of its Ministers calls someone a Capitalist in such a way as this one did? ops:

Dont bother, the answer is "COMMUNISTS". ops:

Default Ryanair head Mike O'Leary dislikes the meddlesome EU

Mike O' Leary, head of Stansted-based Ryanair, has criticised the EU on a number of occasions.

He is to be admired for doing this - unlike the useless wimps that head some companies who are bossed around by the EU and say nothing.

In a speech in March 2006 at Trinity College in Dublin Mr. O'Leary commented “EU Civil servants are incompetent peasant politicians.”

As with all those who tell the truth about the EU, he will now be targeted by the europhile 'elite' who will try to undermine his airline.

Default Ryanair's Mr. O'Leary criticises Stern Report

On 6.11.2006 of the Stern Report (which predicted catastrophe from global warming) Mike O' Leary observed “There’s a lot of misinformation and lies being put about by the eco-nuts in this country on the back of a report put about by an idiot economist. If you listen to them you would think aviation was responsible for melting the polar ice caps, heating up the globe by 2% a year and for every war, pestilence and SARS epidemic. Air transport causes just 2% of all carbon emissions. At 2% of greenhouse emissions, it doesn’t really matter what they do with aviation. If everyone stopped flying around the world, carbon emissions would fall by 2%. That’s less than the impact of the Chinese not opening the 50 (coal-fired) power stations they’ve got planned for next year (2007). The airline industry could cut emissions by outlawing old aircraft and removing business class to maximise seats on aircraft. We should outlaw business class traffic. We should pack them into economy class rather than have the fact and overpaid flying around on flat beds after they’ve all eaten and drunk their fine wines. W should put them in economy class rather than have them sleep across the Atlantic. Any ‘green’ tax on air tickets is simply a way for the (UK) Government to levy taxation.”

Branson, who of course is heavily involved in budget airlines himself, is immune from abuse though. Why? Because he sucks deep on the **** of EU and plays along with their scarmongering BS.

The hypocrisy is nausiating, but then we are used to that when it comes from the EU and their pitiful puppets.

That's such a shame, because I give his company good business. But that has to do with them being good value, not Branson's EU sucking.

Hmm... there is another company called Jetstar though. If Branson really does suck EU c*** that much, maybe I should consider switching over. Loyalty points be damned.

That's a very good point. There has been no criticism of Branson's Virgin Air reported in the media.

I wonder if this Labour Government would be criticising Ryanair if it had paid for expensive dinners to be held between Ryanair officials and various puppets in the Blair Cabinet.

Default What Mike O' Leary said about the EU which upset europhiles

Mike O’ Leary, Ryanair Head, clarified his exact view of the EU in July 2006: “The EU Commission is Stalinist. The EU is an evil empire that is psychologically and morally bankrupt. The Brussels fonctionnaires are incompetent peasant politicians, morons and gobsh**es.”

Source of quote (above) by Mr. Mike O’Leary, Chief Executive of Ryanair: Sunday Telegraph 9.7.2006.

He said on Sky Television News (in response to criticism of his airline from a Labour Government minister who had said Ryanair was the unacceptable face of capitalism as regards its alleged carbon emissions) at 12.03 pm on 5.1.2007 “The Government (of Blair) cause 25% of carbon emissions from their (coal-fired) power stations. That 25% is caused by them – not us. Airlines are not the cause of global warming and not they are not the solution to solving the problem of global warming.”
