Did you miss all the accidents at Sellafield nee Windscales over the years? Mostly due to human error, humans being what they are. I don't much like the idea of nuclear but I fear we don't have much choice if we want to keep the lights on. |

The only answer is nuclear. Or energy from power stations which would operate by burning waste (instead of coal and/or gas which will run out one day). The EU hates such power stations (because it claims that emit carbon emissions) but there is so much rubbish in the world - a huge number of power stations could operate around the globe on burning the billions of rubbish bags we throw out every week in all the industrialised nations. The solutions to a potential energy crisis are probably readily available - only the EU stands in the way of solving many of these problems. |

Actually, many of the incidents reported are not at all related to the nuclear process. Sure, accidents happen. |

So,anyone have the numbers for the deaths from British Nuclear establishments over the last half century or so.
Deaths from radiation exposure other than conjecture. Also,if they have those numbers, perhaps they will have the numbers for the conventional power/energy producers and/or suppliers. A good comparison should be readily available these days I would think. |

Tell you what MarkR,If you wish, you can provide your total fatalities list for the whole Nuclear field in this country for the last fifty years or more and we will put it up against ANY INDUSTRY in this country. Note. There is no safer Industry of similar size or age as the British Nuclear Industry. It beats the Oil,Gas,Coal and renewables hands down for safety and is one hell of a constant Energy/Power supplier. We have no choice and need a lot more of the NPS/NPPs. Time to fully back Nuclear, the Oil/Gas Giants wont like it much, but, have they ever done for anyone but themselves and the corrupt politicians who peddle there propaganda machines. |
