Default A Tory finally gets it on wind energy

Ruth Lea is probably one of the few women in the Tory Party I would consider as competent. She's an economist by trade, which means she can do arithmetic, unlike the vast majority of politicians these says. Here is what she thinks. Reading this is not going to be a great revelation in itself, as these arguments have been put about since the dawn of socialist energy and government subsidies. What is amazing is that it is coming from a mainstream party that happens to be in power. What luck hey!

She then moved into the City of London, where she was Chief Economist at Mitsubishi Bank, where she became a regular television and radio interviewee on economic matters, and Chief UK Economist at Lehman Brothers. She was then Economics Editor at ITN; Head of the Policy Unit at the Institute of Directors, a post which she held between 1995 and 2003. She was famously sacked from the Institute of Directors, allegedly after pressure from the Labour government.[2] She was Director of the Centre for Policy Studies from 2004 to 2007 and Director of Global Vision Global Vision,[3] from 2007 to 2010. She is also a former governor of the London School of Economics

Manbearpig- this is a serious topic. Our fuel bills have doubled in 6 years, and all because of the cretinous behaviour of those who enjoy being brainwashed. It is quite likely that many old people have died as a direct result of not being able to afford to keep warm in the winter. Now the Tory Party has someone other than John Redwood who is talking sense. This is a revelation and it is why I have awarded it the status of ‘result’.
