Default China the only country tackling THE green issue?

While I agree that we will run out of resources in the not to distant future, and alternate energy is a must we are piddling in the wind unless we do something about the population boom.

The planet can only sustain a given amount of people and we have exceeded that amount some time ago. We have to start making the kind of hard choices that realy hurt like china and there one child per couple rule.

Heard on the news the other day that total population is now 7 Billion (they think) may be more. We are like germs polluting our own planet, control ourselves or nature wil do it for us.

Birth rates per 1000 population for various countries:

    Australia - 12.33
    China - 12.29
    France - 12.29
    UK - 12.29
    Russia - 11.05
    Norway - 10.86
    Spain - 10.66
    Germany - 8.30

The population of China is still growing at an estimated 0.493% pa.
For UK it is slightly more at 0.557%.

But that difference is eroded, or reversed when you look at net migration.
For China it is -0.33/1000 population. That is more people leaving than entering.
For UK it is 2.6/1000 so more entering than leaving.

Paints a slightly different picture when you look at actual numbers.

    12.29

If you see the human race as nothing but germs why don't you depopulate your self.

To a certain extent I agree but your figures are 'false accounting' in some senses. The world's population is still inexorably increasing - (and call me alarmist if you like) - but an eventual outcome will probably be massive wars over food and resources.

An even tougher policy than one child per couple is desperately needed. The real problem is how can the world get over nationalistic / race 'objections' to restraint.
Denial is a defense mechanism in which a person is faced with a fact that is too uncomfortable to accept and rejects it instead, insisting that it is not true despite what may be overwhelming evidence.
Denial is a mechanism of the immature mind, because it conflicts with the ability to learn from and cope with reality.

Or, ..... we could all do our best to ensure Ron Paul is elected US President. He wouldn't have any hesitation, it seems, to wiping out all US Blacks at least, AND Jews, from his previous utterances.

I've actually got in touch with the people who made this video to make sure that they are 100% sure of the credibility of this story as obviously if it was not the truth the MSM would have a field day with it. They replied to me stating the story is 100% credible and I've been all over the internet and as yet nothing to show otherwise.

Certainly in my line of work we are spending increasing ammounts of time providing information for areas of the world where resources are already scarce and likely to get even more so where so called peacekeeping efforts will be needed to protect and police supplys.

I am not sure any form of enforces population/birth control would work, too many would just break the law in mass civil disobedience.

RJT, I'm not saying it is in his 'up-front' manifesto, only implications from opinions he is reputed to have made in the past.

I repeat part of post #10 in the 'thank you MBP thread"

Perhaps also you might like to read this link from Xmas Eve’s Daily Telegraph about Ron Paul

(I’ve tried to link this article but can’t so I suggest any of you should try e.g. go to the Telegraph website and search for Ron Paul). But you can see all of this also from lovely wiki :-

Ron Paul - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Newsletter controversy
Further information: Ron Paul presidential campaign, 2008#Ron Paul newsletter controversy
Controversial claims made by an unidentified author in Ron Paul's newsletters, written in the first person narrative, included statements such as "Boy, it sure burns me to have a national holiday for Martin Luther King. I voted against this outrage time and time again as a Congressman. What an infamy that Ronald Reagan approved it! We can thank him for our annual Hate Whitey Day." Along with "even in my little town of Lake Jackson, Texas, I've urged everyone in my family to know how to use a gun in self defense. For the animals are coming."[141] Two other statements that garnered controversy were "opinion polls consistently show only about 5% of blacks have sensible political opinions". In an article titled "The Pink House" the newsletter wrote that "Homosexuals, not to speak of the rest of society, were far better off when social pressure forced them to hide their activities."[142]
These statements were first brought up by Paul's opponent in 1996 Congressional Race, Charles "Lefty" Morris. At the time Paul admitted ................ (much, much more )
    Or here :-
Ron Paul - Presidential Election of 2008 - Elections - Candidates - Republicans - New York Times

    ..................
What a charming fellow he is

    1. Described Martin Luther King as a paedophile
    2. Most black men as criminals
    3. Accused Israeli Mossad for the first bomb attack on the WTc
    4. Bill Clinton may have fathered children with a black woman & called them ‘wood colts’.
    5. Etc etc.
    & re:-

I agree - that was the whole point I tried to make earlier. However, to be contentious with you, I presume you support the Pope/Vatican's opposition to contraception?

    & Re:-

    Yes ! - I did realise that

    added in edit :-
Finally, I've managed to get alink to the DT's Ron Paul story:-

(sorry for diverting this - I'll comment only further on Population)
