Sweyne Ward

EDP (Kim Gandy), 21.4%
Con, 46.7%
Lib Dem, 31.9%

Rochford Ward, a two seater

Green, 7%
Con, 27.2%
Lab, 12.3%
Con, 29.5%
EDP (Margaret Stoll), 11.8%
Lab, 12.2%

In terms of Party percentages the Rochford Ward figures equate to

Con, 48.6%
Lab, 20.4%
Green, 11.5%
EDP, 19.5%

I suspect that part of these excellent results is attributable to work done over the last four years or so by particular individuals. I recognise the name of Kim Gandy, for example, who has been plugging away for yonks!

Can you show us the amount of votes cast, so we can work out the percentage ourselves, as the way the EDP work out the percentage is a bit dodgy.

I have posted the actual votes as well as some others for UKIP, in the Elections Section of the Forum

The EDP were not known in the Rochford District Council area until Paula Hayter came second in the Lodge ward of Rayleigh in 2007. The recent success of the EDP in South East Essex is due entirely to the efforts of the local branch and eastern counties chairman Brian Lee who was the mastermind behind the campaign.
