2006 Result Fawdon Ward - Newcastle upon Tyne
Lib Dems 1675 Labour 926 M Thompson EDP 354 11.49% Conservative 125 With full leaflet drop 2007 - did not stand 2008 Result Lib Dems 1770 Labour 620 M Thompson Free England Party 367 12.43% Conservative 194 90 - 95% leaflet drop Proving, beyond doubt, that switiching from an English Parliament policy to independence does not lose you votes. If anything, it gains you votes. What say you now, federal UK English Democrats? |

A good result. It seems that Martin is much too modest to attribute any of it to a personal following! However, for a much wider and more considered assessment, it is early days yet. So celebrate while you can! ![]() __________________________ |

Congratulations on such a great result. I was in fact surprised and delighted to hear just how well you had done - to have beaten one of the big three parties only two and a half months after the Free England Party started, is just stunning news. I agree with your view that not only does our main policy of English Independence not lose us votes (compared to another party's more complex federal policy), it is easier to explain its merits when on the doorstep. Looks like you are also building yourself a personal following, and hopefully this will increase each year. So next time you stand ... Regards Andrew
