Default English Democrats (Page 17) Daily Mail

Page 17 Ephraim Hardcastle - Wednesday 30 April 2008

"The English Democrats signed up Fathers for Justice founder Matt O'Connor as their London Mayoral candidate.

He once hurled a bag of flour at Tony Blari in the Commons.

But O'Connor resigned after going AWOL for a week, complaining that "proper funding never materialised". English Democrat chairman Robin Tilbrook says:

'I believe he's now getting help for alcohol abuse'

================================================== ==================

Note - The marketing budget was "agreed" at £12,000.

Matt O'Connor had indicated that he had hoped to get further funding as some of the people in Fathers for Justice are millionaires, and he knew them well.

This funding NEVER materialised.

Matt O'Connor also indicated that he planned to run a "gorilla marketing" campaign.

However this too did not materliaise, instead long sessions with "Jack" and "Jonny" in his flat, appeared to be more important to him then turning up for pre-arranged Radio Interviews on BBC London.

He also failed to respond to at least 3 requests from local newspapers for editorial and pictures during the campaign.

"gorilla" marketing?
You jest, surely?

Do you mean "guerilla", and if so, perhaps it's best it didn't materialise.

There is a reference in this article from the anti-EU Brussells Journal that saysthe EDP are being investigated for the "Tartan Tax" campaign. Stand firm folks and I hope you get away with it.
